Northern Lights Alternatives, Incorporated,
Oklahoma City, will provide support to individuals, primarily those affected by
HIV/AIDS, through sponsorship of the AIDS Mastery Workshop.
What is an AIDS Mastery Workshop?
An AIDS Mastery workshop is a three day weekend experience which seeks to
challenge the notion that the quality of life is dependent on circumstances or
its duration. NLA/OKC, Inc. has been sponsoring workshops since 1985.
NLA/OKC, Inc. has helped individuals who have HIV/AIDS in their body as well as
mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, nieces, friends, life
partners, and many more find ways to live their lives with passion. Doctors,
ministers, lawyers, RAIN team members and AIDS Service Organization staff
members have also benefited from Mastery Workshops in OKC. Each experience is
unique to the person going through. The workshop is not a counseling session.
There is no charge for attending Mastery workshops in Oklahoma City.
Donations are accepted, but not required. Meals are provided throughout the
weekend. It is asked that participants commit to the time it takes to complete
the entire workshop experience.
Northern Lights Alternatives, Inc. in Oklahoma City is a non-profit, volunteer
based organization sponsoring a series of workshops. These workshops provide a
safe, secure, and confidential environment for the participants to grow and
learn new coping skills with an increased self-awareness. Although directed
principally toward those affected by HIV/AIDS, NLA/OKC will exclude no one. Each
workshop will provide opportunities for individual enlightenment, enrichment,
and entertainment. More than 500 people have left their workshop with a new
sense of family and a network of continued unconditional support.
